Builth RFC travelled to Bridgend on Saturday for a Division 2 West game vs Pyle RFC.

The strong home and away support were treated to a game of 14 tries and plenty of running rugby from every part of the pitch, resulting in a 22-57 win for the Bulls.

The match was a great advert for the national grass roots game, with both teams willing to entertain and give everything they had.

The game started with a try from Bulls captain Ash Mills, who went over inside five minutes. Galloping from the half line like a rampaging bull, the skipper scored under the posts, which was then converted by Harry Jenkinson.

From the restart Pyle hit back with a well-worked forwards try.

The try party really started to unwrap when Dylan Jones, the impressive right wing, scored two tries in very quick succession.

But Pyle would not lie down and entered this free-flowing game with another well-worked forwards try.

Hocker Ryan Hughes then smashed his way over from a Bull’s line-out 15 meters from the home side’s line to make the score 12-24 to the Bulls.

Pyle then unleashed their backs for the first time in the match, scoring in the corner.

Right before half-time the Bulls produced the try of the game, when the impressive Harry Jenkinson began the move from inside own 22, showcasing great feet and clever hand control to spilt the Pyle defence in two.

Great link work from the whole back line resulted in the hat-trick king Dylan Jones scoring under the posts, making the half-time score 12-31 to the Bulls.

Straight from kick off Dylan’s older brother Ryan Jones got on the score-sheet.

With the introduction of super sub Cerith Davies at 7 it did not take long for this dynamic player to score, followed by another Harry Jenkinson conversion.

Pyle hit back with a try of their own, showing the tie was still just about alive.

Both teams pulled off two extra tries to please any travelling rugby pilgrims.

Bulls centre Luke Morgan ran from Pyle’s 22, trampling over a very tired Pyle defence to score in the corner.
