A tight first half saw Bonymaen edge the scoreboard with a single unconverted try for their scrum half. Builth almost equalised just before the break, when Ashley Mills stormed down field, running almost the length of the pitch only to be caught inches short. Builth were camped on the tryline but lost the ball and so sounded the half time whistle leaving the score 5-0 to the home side.
Bonymaen added two further tries in the second half, the first courtesy of their number 14 shortly after the restart with a well worked try under the posts making for an easy conversion.
Builth had plenty of possession in the second half, again heaping pressure on the Bonymaen tryline. A penalty try was looking more and more likely and despite forcing penalty after penalty and the referee finally giving the Bonymaen hooker his marching orders, the ball finally found its way into the home team hands. The Bulls never gave up on this one and with the opposition clearly tiring, Ben Duggan crossed the line making the final score 19-5.
