Builth Bulls Under 16's rugby team have just returned from their touring weekend in West Didsbury, Manchester, where they were hosted by the Broughton Park Rugby Club.
A successful day of rugby on the Sunday saw the Bulls win their two matches against Broughton Park 38 - 5 and a team from Littlesborough 28 – 7. It was an outstanding performance from the Bulls as they put all their training skills into what was their first game of the season. A squad of 20 players were congratulated by their coaches, Ian Fairclough, Stella Pugh and Justin Lewis, “Thank you to the boys for their fantastic behaviour. They did themselves proud and Builth RFC proud”! Said coach Ian on their return.
It was a weekend of rugby as the group also enjoyed watching the 2 Rugby World Cup semi-finals in their hotel and Whalley Range Cricket and Tennis Club. There was a great atmosphere and a warm welcome for the boys, and they also met TV Darts commentator John Gwynne. Other activities included a Laser Quest session, a Karting Race Track experience and Ten Pin Bowling.
The Under 16's team would like to thank everyone who has helped them to organise the tour, including parents, family, organisations and businesses, who have helped to make the trip possible. These include Bildabin Ltd, Court Contractors, Texacloth Ltd, BSW Timber, Music on the Meadow, Mid Wales Egg Packaging, Rhayader Farm Animal Health, Andrew Pugh Construction, Hafod Hardware, Richard Lewis Animal Scanning Services, Matthew Knill, Mid Wales Incineration and the Co-operative shop.
